“Shapes” is the germinating brainchild of Eli Davidovici, incorporating the fragments of musical and extra-musical figures and features he collects into songs, statements, and mosaics that he and his bandmates use to communicate to both stage and audience dwellers. While the performers share a vision that aims towards a specific collection of sounds that are derived from their backgrounds in Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop, and Folk, the Shapes themselves, that permeate everything down to do the networks of connecting pieces of this music, do not. They’re hanging around, doing their own thing.
